WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
The workshop opens by setting the context: the Dutch government’s 2022 apology for its role in slavery and the creation of a dedicated fund to support projects in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom that preserve, teach, and reflect on this history.
Participants are then guided through the fund’s structure: total budget, application windows, eligibility, and examples of qualifying projects. This is followed by a practical walk-through of the application process, required documents, and tips for preparing a strong proposal.
An interactive group exercise allows participants to draft a brief project concept, applying what they’ve learned and receiving feedback.
The session closes with an open Q&A, key dates, and clear next steps, ensuring attendees leave with a clear understanding of what this funding program entail and feel encouraged to apply for a grant.
