DESCRIPTION

This workshop introduces the concept of anticipatory governance as a forward-looking, participatory approach to navigating uncertainty and crisis in Small Island States. Grounded in the reality of climate disruption, economic precarity, and systemic risk, the session is designed to activate collective intelligence and foster systemic agency. Through interactive dialogue, futures thinking tools, and collaborative mapping, participants will co-create pathways to shape more resilient and inclusive island futures.

LEARNING OUTCOMES (competencies)

At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

·        Understand the fundamentals of anticipatory governance and its relevance in an age of polycrisis.

·        Apply futures thinking methods to identify early signals, risks, and emerging opportunities.

·        Engage in co-creative dialogue to formulate context-sensitive responses to complex challenges.

·        Strengthen their capacity to act systemically, collaboratively, and proactively.
